De Novo is Latin for “from the beginning” or “anew”. This is our approach to insurance and risk management. The traditional approach to insurance is almost exclusively cost-focused. Insurance agents call on businesses and individuals, almost to the point of harassing them, for their renewal dates, wanting to “quote their insurance”. “Give me your polices and I’ll come back with quotes” ASAP we hear. The singular goal always seems to be to reduce the price of insurance, but at what cost? What a family or business pays for their insurance is certainly important, but for a business, where is the attention to protection of property and profits, to employee health, well-being, and safety?
